  • 1 large bowl of cooked/leftover rice
  • 2 tbsp of dark soy sauce

  1. Heat up the oil to a medium heat. Add garlic and fry till golden. Add the chopped up carrot to the garlic and fry for 3-4 minutes then add the spring onion. Fry for a further minute then add the egg and stir into the vegetables.
  2. When the egg is cooked add the cooked rice and combine with the vegetables and egg.
  3. Add the soy sauce to coat the rice and serve.

  • 1 ½ cups cubed cooked pork

  • 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger, finely chopped
  • 3 stalks celery, diced
  • ½ small onion, diced
  • 1 large carrot, diced
  • ½ red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 green onions, finely chopped

Heat 2 teaspoons vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat cook and stir mushrooms until the juice has evaporated, and the mushrooms are browned, about 15 minutes. Set mushrooms aside.

Fluff cooked rice with a fork and stir in 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to separate the grains. Heat remaining 3 tablespoons vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Cook and stir pork, garlic, and ginger until fragrant, about 1 minute add celery, onion, and carrot. Cook and stir until vegetables begin to soften, 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in red bell pepper and cooked mushrooms just until combined.

Stir in cooked rice, lightly tossing until rice is heated through and thoroughly combined with pork and vegetables. Stir in soy sauce, remove from heat, and sprinkle green onions over the top.

EASY Egg Fried Rice!

5 Minutes EASY egg fried rice is one of my no-brainer dishes to fix in the kitchen! Egg fried rice is fast and affordable dish that I can whip it up on any given day. The best part is it goes well with any other dishes/sauces you decided to pair with!

Making egg fried rice at home is super easy and fast! It takes only 5 minutes or less. The ingredients are simple as this:

  • Cooking oil
  • Egg
  • Cold rice (my favorite rice to make fried rice is Jasmine rice)
  • Salt or/and soy sauce
  • Green onion, optional

If you add any extra veggies or protein, to make it as a perfect main meal. Chicken, shrimp, crab, beef, pork and more, the options are endless! You can also serve this easy egg fried rice as a side, it will be beautifully goes well with teriyaki chicken, sticky Chinese ribs, beef and broccoli, creamy shrimp and more. Check out my entree recipes for more ideas! Drizzle some sriracha if you want a kick or extra soy sauce if you want more savory.

Beat eggs well with pinch of salt and slice green onions. Set aside.

Slice green onions slightly diagonal angle.

Heat a wok or a skillet over high heat add 1 tbsp cooking oil and swirl to coat. Pour beaten eggs into the wok and scramble.

When the eggs are cooked 3/4 way, add remaining 2 tbsp cooking oil and cold jasmine rice.

A day old cold jasmine rice is my absolute favorite to make fried rice. It has beautiful aroma and fluffy texture that can hold the shape well while frying.

Add soy sauce around the edge of the wok, so it will burn slightly for the smoky umami flavor. Add salt to your taste and mix everything well. Reduce heat to low if you need to.

Chicken Egg-Fried Rice Recipe


2 tablespoons vegetable oil

4 chicken breasts, diced into cubes

3 garlic cloves, finely minced

3 large eggs, lightly beaten

4 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce


  • Heat the oils (sesame and vegetable) in a large frying pan or wok. Add the chicken and cook for about five minutes until the chicken is brown. Remove chicken and set aside.
  • Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Add the peas, red pepper and green onions. Cook for about five minutes until the vegetables are soft.
  • Push vegetables to one side of the pan and add the eggs to the other side. Cook the eggs as if you were making scrambled eggs.
  • Add the chicken, rice, soy sauce and sweet chilli and stir to combine. Cook for about two minutes, or until chicken is reheated through.Season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve with fresh lemon wedges.

5-Ingredient Fried Rice with Egg Recipe

This 5-Ingredient Fried Rice with Egg recipe is an easy lunch or dinner idea that is delicious as a main dish or a side dish. You will only need a few ingredients: cooked rice, frozen peas and carrots, egg, oil, and soy sauce.

Our teen son LOVES fried rice. He eats it so often that I have a feeling that I will affectionately call his teen years as the Years of the Fried Rice. Initially, it started with him ordering it at restaurants or as take-out. Then, he asked if I could help him learn to make it. Of all my kids, Mattie is the one who’s always been curious about cooking in the kitchen. I’ve taught him lots of things in the kitchen, I even posted back in 2013 about him learning to make an omelet.

There is no one way my son make his fried rice. Sometimes it has egg and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes he cuts up a carrot and adds green onion. Sometimes he uses other protein, like leftover pork roast or chicken, or even Spam (not my favorite, but the kid is a fan).

Making fried rice is easy. The main key is that you want cold, cooked rice. It’s a perfect dish to make with leftover rice, so if I’m making rice to go along with a dinner, I always make a bit extra so that fried rice can be made the next day or later in the week.

Don’t have leftover rice? You’ll want to plan ahead and make rice in advance of making this 5-Ingredient Fried Rice with Egg recipe. Make sure you make it early enough to allow enough time for it to cool. To make enough rice for this recipe, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add in the 1 cup of uncooked rice. Reduce heat to low/medium, cover with a lid and let simmer for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through and water is absorbed. Allow for the rice to cool completely before using in the recipe.

Once you have your cold and cooked rice, you are ready to make this 5-Ingredient Fried Rice with Egg recipe.

First, beat 2 eggs in a small bowl and cook them over low-medium heat in a greased frying pan.

In a large frying pan, heat the oil and add in the frozen pea and carrot veggies and cook for a few minutes. Add the cold rice and scrambled eggs to the veggies, stirring to combine. Sprinkle in soy sauce to taste and cook until heated through. Season with salt and pepper as desired.

How to Cook Thai Egg Fried Rice

Cooking fried rice is really easy &ndash it is just fried after all! But how to make egg fried rice tasty and not too greasy? You do that by controlling how much fat you use and the sauce you add for flavor. That&rsquos the secret!

The Thai version almost always uses either onions or garlic as well as cold cooked rice, sauce to add flavor and of course egg.

Other ingredients, vegetables such as bell peppers, peas or broccoli, or meats such as chicken or seafood work well but must be cooked first. A good recipe will propose adding them while cooking the onions or garlic to warm them through before adding the rice. Prawns and crab meat are our favorite additions for a treat and chicken for a more regular meal dish.
